Class Experience

The College Essay Workshop will guide you through the process of crafting a standout personal statement. You’ll learn how to highlight your strengths, tell your unique story, and make a lasting impression on admissions officers. 

This course will be guided by Vivian DiGennaro,  a tenured, New York State certified English teacher with 25 years of high school experience. Vivian is currently an English teacher at John F. Kennedy High School.

Through this workshop, she aims to help you feel confident and ready to write an essay that truly represents you. You will look at the seven college essay prompts offered by the common app. Each prompt will be broken down with guided questions that will help you begin to brainstorm ideas for your essay topic. You will also receive a packet with standout college essays for each prompt that vary in story, style, and writing ability.
